Willie Mae Ruffcorn, 90, of Moline, IL, passed away Thursday, January 8, 2015, at UnityPoint-Trinity West in Rock Island, IL. A visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 13th, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Wednesday, January 14th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, IL. Willie Mae Jean Boone was born in Steedman, MO, on February 7, 1924, to Robert William and Bessie Mae (Adams) Boone. On March 15, 1952, in Rockford, IL, she married Ralph Ruffcorn, who preceded her in death November 3, 2005. She was employed by IHC-Farmall Works, Desaulniers & Co, and several other factories in the area. She was a member of the Moline Gospel Temple for 42 years. Willie Mae grew up in the west end of Moline. She enjoyed working her puzzle books and going for rides. She loved the many pets she had over the years, and she especially loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. Willie Mae was a descendent of Daniel Boone. Survivors include: daughters, Judy (Norbe) Alatorre, and Nancy Morris, all of Moline; sons, Gary (Terri) Ruffcorn of Moline and Kevin Ruffcorn of Rapids City, IL; fifteen grandchildren, and fifteen great-grandchildren. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by two sisters, three brothers, daughter Linda Kay Ruffcorn, and granddaughter Vanessa Kay Alatorre.
