William R. “Bill” Case, 71, of East Moline, IL, died Tuesday, October 9, 2018, at his home. Cremation rites will be accorded, and private services will be held at a later date. William Rogers Case was born October 22, 1946 in Moline, son of Eugene and Elinor (Rutt) Case. He was a graduate of Moline High School, and while earning his Bachelor’s degree at the University of Illinois, he was president of Sigma Alpha Epsilon. He was a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving in Vietnam. Bill was an accountant in Chicago for several firms, among them Touche Ross, Ruzicka & Associates, and the Santa Fe Railroad. He retired in 2013. He was an avid fan of Chicago sports, both the Bears and the Cubs. Bill greatly enjoyed “Rocky & Bullwinkle”, and was the founder and president of the Rocky & Bullwinkle Fan Club at Moline High. Survivors include his sons, Matthew W. Case and Geoffrey G. Case, both of Springfield, IL; his sister, Elizabeth “Buffy” Case of Moline; and brothers, Larry (Anne) Case of Sydney, Australia, and Cullen Case of Moline.
