William Harvey

William “Henry” Harvey, 89, of Moline, IL, died Friday, May 26, 2017, at UnityPoint Trinity West, in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Wednesday, May 31st, from 6 pm until 8 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Thursday, June 1st, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with interment at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Henry was born March 8, 1928, in Swifton, AR, the son of Willie and Mary (Holder) Harvey. On April 4, 1953, in Fulton, IL, he married Helen Scobey, who survives. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean Conflict. Henry retired from John Deere Company as a welder in 1995 after 35 years. He was a member of American Legion Post #246 of Moline. In addition to Helen, his wife of 63 years, survivors include daughters, Ellen Graham of Davenport, IA, Mary Etzel of Rock Island, IL, and Vicky Armstrong of New Salem, IL; a son, Robert Harvey of Moline; sisters, Marie Voltz and Carol Schyvincht, both of Clinton, IA; brothers, Kenneth Harvey of Davenport, IA, and David Harvey of the state of Texas; fourteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren, and three great-great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, four sisters, and a son, William R. Harvey.
