Werner C Lienau

Werner C. Lienau, 76, of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, January 27, 2009, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Services will be held Friday, January 30, 2009, at 11:00 a.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. The visitation will be Friday, from 9:30 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in East Moline. Memorials may be made to the Quad-City Animal Welfare Center in Milan, IL. Werner C. Lienau was born in Berlin, Germany on February 24, 1932. On November 6, 1966, in Rock Island, he married Elsie A. Foster, who preceded him in death on November 2, 2005. Werner retired in 1987, after 20 years as a painter for Case-I.H. East Moline Works. He enjoyed reading. Survivors include: a daughter: Dawn Lienau, and a son: Brian Lienau, both of Cedar Rapids, IA; a stepdaughter: Betty Graham of Moline; eight grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, a grandson, and a step-son, Ronald Foster.
