William Wayne Kizer, 84, of Moline, IL, passed away Sunday, January 7, 2018, at Heartland Healthcare in Moline. Visitation will be held Thursday, January 11th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Friday, January 12th, at 10:00 a.m., at 15th Avenue Christian Church, 3600 – 15th Avenue, Rock Island, IL. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Epilepsy Society, or to the Holden Comprehensive Cancer Center at the University of Iowa. Wayne was born in Hannibal, MO, on January 31, 1933, to Kenneth and Sylvia (Tapley) Kizer. He was a draftsman for Deere & Company in Moline, retiring May 1, 1992. He was a former Elder and Deacon of the First Christian Church in Moline, participating also in CNF and Men’s Bible Study. Wayne was a caring man with a huge heart. He lived his life in a way that was an example for others. Survivors include a sister, Virginia (Everett) Brooks of Hannibal, MO, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his sister, Nancy Ziegler, and three brothers, Edward, Richard, and Kenneth Dean Kizer. Wayne’s family would like to thank all those who cared for him at Heartland Healthcare over the past years.
