Vista V Westbrooks

Vista Westbrooks, 80, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, November 13, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, November 16th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Monday, November 17th, at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Oak Glen Home, Coal Valley, IL. Vista V. Estes was born in Brilliant, AL, on June 16, 1928, to Frank and Mary Jane (Boling) Estes. On March 5, 1946, she married Odie Westbrooks, who preceded her in death on December 20, 1992. She was employed as a Certified Nurses Aide at the former Franciscan Hospital in Rock Island, retiring in 1990 after 27 years. Survivors include: a daughter: Rosemary "Jane" Rumler of Moline; three sons: Milton (Linda) Westbrook of Belden, MS, Frank (Jody) Westbrooks of Silvis, IL, and Mark (Dena) Westbrooks of Tipton, IA; eight grandchildren: Patricia (Tom) Dennis, Laurie Westbrook, Rob (Julie) Dillie, Zachary (Kim Cartwright) Rumler, Casey Rumler, Joey (Langston Whiles) Rumler, Caleb (Carey Shuck) Rumler, and Stacy Westbrooks; five great-grandsons; eight great-granddaughters; and one great-great-grandson; and a special niece, Gail Hotchkiss of Milan, IL. She was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, three sisters, one brother, a son-in-law:Richard Rumler, a granddaughter: Cindy Robinson, and a great-granddaughter: Ellie Alyson Rumler. The family wishes to thank the staff of Oak Glen Home, the nursing staff of 7North and 4South at Trinity West, and a very big thank you to Dr. Paul Wang.
