Violet Castor, 87, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, August 7, 2011, at East Moline Nursing & Rehab Center in East Moline, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, August 11th, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Service will be Friday, August 12th, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Ronald McDonald House in Iowa City, IA. Violet Bouge was born in Reliance, ND, on November 1, 1923, to Jessie and Mary V. (Uk) Bouge. In St. Louis, MO, in 1943, she married Lavern E. Jacks, Sr. Later, in Rock Island, IL, she was married to Bill Wilson, and then to Vernon Castor, who preceded her in death in 2006. She attended Memorial Christian Church in Rock Island, and enjoyed gardening and cooking. She was a great cook, and was especially known for her delicious pies. Survivors include: son: Laverne E. (Susie) Jacks, Jr. of Moline, IL; a sister: Alice Aspeland of Burlington, IN; a brother: Charlie Bouge of Omaha, NE; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, and two great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by two sisters and five brothers.
