Vernon Lee Goodman

Vernon L. Goodman, 59, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, May 19, 2018, at UnityPoint Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded.  A memorial service will be held Friday, May 25 th , at 7:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, with a two-hour visitation prior to the service beginning at 5:00 p.m. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society. Vernon Lee “Vernie” Goodman was born February 11, 1959, in Seabring, FL, son of Vernon B. and Lela (Kistenmacker) Goodman. In Rock Island, on August 24, 2012, he married Debra Randall. He was a graduate of Rock Island High School, and was a member of the U.S. Army National Guard.  He was employed by Rudy’s Tacos, National Railroad, and Moline Forge.  He enjoyed hiking, winter camping, walking his dog, and especially loved spending time with his grandchildren. In addition to his wife, Deb, survivors include a son, Michael (Davia) Goodman; grandchildren, Tristen Goodman, Jada Saffell, and Brayden Goodman; sisters, Jacqueline (Tim Miller) Goodman of Milan, IL, Pam (Gary Smith) Long of Milan, IL, Sherri (Dennis) Scrutchfield of Coal Valley, IL, and Brenda (Jim) Pyrz of Swisher, IA; brothers, Terry Goodman of Galesburg, IL, and Mark Johnson of Sherrard, IL; and extended family: Mark (Sue) Bleuer, Linda (Mike) Leaver, Dani Leaver, Theresa Bleuer Maas, Brandon Ford, Sarah Maas, and Mark and Rory Buehl. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, Raymond Goodman.
