Velma Ruth Mann

Velma R. Mann, 81, of Orion, IL, passed away Friday, May 4, 2018, at Heartland Health Care in Moline. There will be a visitation at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline on Wednesday, May 9 th , from 3:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m.  A private family service will follow. Velma Ruth Ainley was born in Kewanee, IL, on November 6, 1936, to Ralph and Ida (Haynes) Ainley.  On September 8, 1957, at the First Congregational Church in Kewanee, she married Harry E. Mann, Jr, who preceded her in death December 1, 2015. Velma was employed by John Deere Harvester in Moline for twenty-one years, retiring in 1994.  She enjoyed playing Bingo and cards, and watching Wheel of Fortune and The Price is Right. She especially loved spending time with her family. Survivors include her children, Christine (Rick) Lester of Quincy, IL, Jeffrey Mann of Moline, Dennis (Marjorie) Mann of Rock Island, IL, and Jacqueline (Edwin) Christian of Andalusia, IL; grandchildren, Kelly (Alyssa) Maxey, Kimberly Hurley, Hayley Lester, Matt (Marie) Olson, Ryan (Christina) Mann, Michelle (Jason) Cousineau, Allison Mann, and Angela (Cory) Czubara; many great-grandchildren; and a brother, Glenn Ainley. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents.
