Vada Wendell, 88, of Moline, IL, passed away Friday, July 26, 2013, at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. Per her wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A memorial service will be held Wednesday, July 31st, at 11:00 a.m., at First Christian Church, 1826 - 16th Street, Moline, with a one-hour visitation at 10:00 a.m.. Inurnment will be at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to First Christian Church in Moline, or to the Alzheimers Association. Vada Mae Reisenbigler was born in Erie, IL, on January 10, 1925, to Ira and Winifred (Henwood) Reisenbigler. On June 4, 1948, she married Robert Wendell, who survives. She graduated from Erie High School, and the former Moline Public Hospital School of Nursing. She and her husband owned and operated B&B Glass Company in Moline, where she was the bookkeeper for over 20 years. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Moline, and enjoyed bowling, knitting, crocheting, sewing, crafts, and flower arranging. In addition to her husband, Bob, survivors include: daughter: Deborah K. Wendell of Nashville, TN; sons: Jon (Maryvonne) Wendell of Phoenix, AZ, and Robert 'Butch' (Nancy) Wendell of Holcombe, WI; sister: Amy Enright of Erie, IL; and grandchildren: Hilary, Kirsten, Isabella, and Illiana. She was preceded in death by her parents, three sisters, and four brothers.
