Una Bingham, 75, of Moline, IL, went to be with her Lord, after a long battle with cancer, on Thursday, October 30, 2014. Visitation will be Saturday, November 1st, from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m., with the service commencing at 4:00, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. A private family burial will be held on Monday at the National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers, donations would be appreciated for Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child or Heritage Church in Rock Island. Una Juhl Derby was born in Moline on December 16, 1938, to Oscar Nelson and Hope (Collins) Derby. She married Terry R. Bingham on December 16, 1954, in Tokyo, Japan. She was a hairdresser for many years, and enjoyed twenty years as the office manager with Catholic Social Services. She was always an advocate for those in need, and was dedicated to adoption and refugee resettlement. Una came to know the Lord as an adult. She was active member at Heritage Church in Rock Island. She was devoted to the Samaritan’s Purse Operation Christmas Child, and other charities. She enjoyed traveling and visited many nations throughout the world. She is survived by her loving husband, Terry, her Chihuahua Chiquita, and a large family of children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and siblings that include: Terry R and Julie Bingham, Brett and Luella Bingham, Ty and Kathleen Bingham, Darcy and Randy Rogers, Gina and Jim Falk, KiKi and Reaksa Toum, Jade Bingham and son Jordan, Shayla and Bill Weedman, Tia Thai, Trung Do, Sophorn and Doug Bechtel, Soben Fay, Donna Derby Cunningham, and Vicki and Doug Grudznski. She will be greatly missed because she touched and changed the lives of so many. It has been such a blessing to our family that so many of you have taken the time to stop by and share fond memories with her.
