Twyla C Rice

Twyla Rice, 76, of Panorama Park in Bettendorf, IA, passed away Tuesday, January 4, 2011, at Aspen Rehab and Health Care in Silvis, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, January 6th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be Friday, January 7th, at 11:00 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Coal Valley Cemetery in Coal Valley, IL. Memorials may be made to the Alzheimers Association or to Aspen Rehab and Health Care.. Twyla C. Anderson was born September 9, 1934, to Arnold and Ella (Bahr) Anderson in Esterville, IA. She married Robert H. Cox, who preceded her in death. She later married Steven L. Rice on April 26, 1986, in Moline. Twyla was a Clerk for the former Illinois Bell Telephone Company for 20 years, retiring in 1991. She was a member of the First Christian Church in Moline; a volunteer at Forest Hill in East Moline; and a member of the Retirees Club of Alcoa Local #105. She enjoyed traveling, gardening, singing, and was a member of the choir at First Christian Church. Survivors include: her husband, Steven; three daughters: Rosemary Baker of Moline, IL, Roberta Byrne of Coal Valley, and Deborah Sheldon of Moline; four stepsons: Steven Clark of Clarksville, AR, Richard Rice of Bettendorf, Roger Rice of West Hartford, CT, and Ronald Rice of Bettendorf, IA; eleven grandchildren and three great-grandchildren. She was preceded by her parents, her first husband, and two brothers: Delbert L. and William A. Anderson.
