Tom graduated from Moline High School and attended the University of Arizona. During his career, he worked at John Deere and then, along with his father, Dr. Thomas Honsa, co-founded Honsa Ergonomic Technologies. They began designing new vibration-reducing and sound-isolation systems for pneumatic-powered tools in 1985. Their goal was to reduce work-related injuries caused by excessive vibration and poor ergonomics. Tom and his wife, Sue, were passionate about their company and the products and services they have provided to manufacturing industries worldwide, including Aerospace, Metal Fabrication, Automotive, Shipbuilding and Repair, Agricultural and Construction Equipment. Their customers' ergonomic health is their number one priority. Tom was proud of the many patents he holds.
Some of his enjoyments included fishing, telling stories, watching the Chicago Bears lose, going to concerts, traveling, and, most of all, he loved his wife, family, friends, and company.
Survivors include his wife, Sue, daughter Shannon and son Sean (Emily); grandchildren, Eleanor and Eugene; brother, Dr. Patrick (Julie) Honsa; sister Ann (Carlos) Salaber.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Dr. Thomas and Jean Honsa, and his brother Michael Honsa.
