Thomas E. Birmingham, 79, of Coal Valley, IL, died Saturday, December 27, 2007, at Select Specialty Hospital in Davenport, IA. Thomas E. Birmingham was born on March 1, 1928, to Earl and Lucille (Fitzpatrick) Birmingham in Moline, IL. He married Margaret Smith on June 3, 1948. He later married Margie Popejoy on November 27, 1974, in Coal Valley. Tom was an electrician for 50 years. He retired in 1990 after 20 years in sales with Republic Electric Company in Davenport. He enjoyed woodworking and repairing old clocks. Visitation will be held Sunday, December 30th, from 3:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held Monday, December 31st, at 11:00 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley. Interment will take place in Coal Valley Cemetery. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley, or to the American Heart Association. Survivors include: his Wife: Margie; four daughters: Sheri (Terry) Hockaday of Port Byron, IL, Patricia King of Port Byron, IL, Jennifer Wilson of Moline, IL, and Bonnie (Stan) Woodburn of Port Byron, IL; two sons: Robert (Jill) Birmingham of Cordova, IL., and Thomas (Diane) Birmingham of Geneseo, IL.; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, two brothers and one sister.
