Terry Arthur Kline, 67, of Davenport, died peacefully on March 18, 2024, at the Genesis East in Davenport, surrounded by his family after a brief period of hospice.
Terry was born on June 3, 1956, in Iowa City, Iowa, the fourth son of Stanley Sol Kline and DeLoris Jane (Pahl, Kline) Brune, and was raised in Davenport, Iowa, with his seven brothers and sisters. Terry worked in the plumbing, sewer-drain, and water cleanup services industry for nearly 30 years. He was well known as a prankster and storyteller, and he enjoyed fishing, gambling a few dollars on the river boats, and spending time with his family. After a major stroke in 2019, he resided at The Ivy at Davenport and was well known for his "spirited" exchanges with fellow residents and the staff. His constant demands for Rudy's enchiladas with "extra" tomatoes, a Mountain Dew, and a cigarette will be sorely missed.
Survivors include his two children, Heather and Terry Jr. Kline, and eight grandchildren. Other survivors include his siblings (spouses): Larry (Linda) Kline of Fairborn, Ohio; Linda (Jack) Hachmann of Davenport, Iowa; Dan (Tracy) Brune of Virginia Beach, Virginia; and a multitude of nieces and nephews.
His parents, two brothers, Garry Kline and Jerry Kline, and two sisters, Susan Kline and Darlene Sparks, preceded him in death. May they rest in peace.
The family is planning a small, private celebration of life, and there is no memorial service planned. Burial will be at Oakdale Memorial Gardens.
