Teresa Girot

Teresa C. (Waibel) Girot, affectionately known as Terri, passed away peacefully on October 3, 2023, in Phoenix, AZ. Born on October 29, 1957, in Kirksville, MO, Terri lived a life full of passion and dedication to her family, friends, and work.

Terri was a beloved mother, sister, aunt, and grandmother. She is survived by her daughters, Carla Waibel of Moline, IL, and Danielle (Brett) Copp of Phoenix, AZ. She was a doting grandmother to Adler and Sawyer Copp, who brought immense joy and laughter into her life. Terri is also survived by her sisters, Paula (William) Mills of Geneseo, IL, and Karen Rodriguez of Phoenix, AZ; her brothers, Thomas (Twilla) Waibel of Canon City, CO, and Douglas Waibel of Kirksville, MO. Her nieces, Corey (Ben) White of Cambridge, IL, Gene Mullenix of Phoenix, AZ, and Angel Rodriguez of Edmond, Oklahoma, will remember their aunt with fondness and love. Terri also leaves behind several grand fur-kids, who were a source of comfort and companionship to her.

Terri's professional life was marked by her dedication and commitment. She worked at IPSA Security in Phoenix, AZ, and Heinz in Muscatine, IA.

Terri had a deep love for her family and friends, and she made sure to stay connected with them, whether in person or via social media. Her friends, Janet and William Smith, Vickie Tomlin, Linda Lowe, and Joyce Lowe, will remember her as a loyal and steadfast companion. She was preceded in death by her parents, Franklin Waibel and Nancy Clark, and her son, Michael Steven Gabbert.

Terri's passing leaves a void that cannot be filled. Her memory, however, will live on in the hearts of those who knew and loved her. Her legacy of passion, dedication, and love will continue to inspire and guide her family and friends. As we mourn her loss, we also celebrate her life, remembering the joy, laughter, and love she brought into our lives.
