Teresa Ann Owens-Ackley

Teresa Ann Owens-Ackley, 50, of West Palm Beach, FL, formerly of the Quad-Cities, died unexpectedly on Tuesday, July 11, 2017, in the ER at UnityPoint Trinity Medical Center 7th Street Campus in Moline, IL. A visitation will be held Friday, July 14th, from 11:30 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Cremation rites will then be accorded. Inurnment will take place in the fall in Lewis burg, West Virginia. Memorials may be made to a no-kill animal shelter of the donor’s choice. Teresa Ann Fletcher was born December 30, 1966 in Clifton Forge, VA, daughter of Estil Fletcher and Judy Burns Fletcher Moran. She married James R. “Randy” Ackley, who survives, and was a devoted mother and friend to her three children. She worked as a Red Cross Disaster Coordinator, and then as a private investigator in Washington D.C. More recently, Teresa was the administrator at her husband’s law firm in West Palm Beach, FL. Teresa and her husband met at the Northridge Earthquake disaster response in 1994, where both were working for the Red Cross. They traveled and lived in Eastern Europe and South Asia; Teresa gave birth to all three of her children in India and Sri Lanka. Over the last decade, Teresa and her family have lived in the Quad Cities, Louisville, Kentucky, and Kissimmee and West Palm Beach in Florida. In addition to her husband, survivors include her mother, Judy Moran of Hanceville, AL; her children, Jillian Adele Priyanka Ackley, John “Jack” Nichols Ackley, and James Lincoln Ackley, all of West Palm Beach, FL; her brother, James Lee Fletcher and his wife Peggy Fletcher of Lewisburg, WV; and a nephew, Justin Lee Fletcher and his wife, Jamie Lee Fletcher of New Carlisle, OH, and nephew, Jason Judy and his wife Sandy. She was preceded in death by her father, Estil Fletcher and her step-father, Fredrick James “Mickey” Moran.
