Steven John Tagtmeier

Steven J. Tagtmeier, 64, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, January 12, 2014, at his home. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 15th, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Thursday, January 16th, at 10:00 a.m., at Sacred Heart Church, 1308 - 13th Street, Moline, with burial in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association, 208 LaSalle Street, Suite 1500, Chicago, IL 60604. Steven John Tagtmeier was born in Moline on April 26, 1949, to William and Wilmogene (Jones) Tagtmeier. On April 13, 1985, in Moline, he married Judy McClean, who survives. Steve graduated from Moline High School, and Augustana College, and received his Masters Degree in Accounting from U.S.C. He was employed by Deere & Company as an accountant for thirty-two years, retiring in 2001. He was a member of Score of the Quad Cities, and the Rock Island Arsenal Golf Club. He enjoyed puzzles, especially Sudoku, and meeting for coffee with friends, and loved spending time with his family. In addition to his wife, Judy, survivors are, daughter Ellen A. Tagtmeier of Moline; sons John M. Tagtmeier of Moline and Christopher S. Tagtmeier of Davenport, IA; brother William Thomas Tagtmeier and wife Beth, of Moline; aunt and uncle Melvin and Lois Long of Huntley, IL, and many nieces and nephews.
