Steven Allen Jacobs

Steve Jacobs, 63, of Moline, IL, died at his home Monday, October 19, 2015, after a long battle with renal failure. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. Private services will be held at a later date in Kewanee, IL. Steven Allen Jacobs was born in Kewanee, IL, on January 2, 1952, to George T. and Helen (Glaski) Jacobs. He was a graduate of Kewanee High School and earned an Associate Degree in Graphic Arts from Southern Illinois University in Edwardsville, IL. He then traveled west to the state of Oregon where he decided not to pursue an office career in Graphics Arts, because he loved working in the outdoors. For many years he was employed by the Forestry Service and at several fish hatcheries. Upon returning to Illinois, he was last employed as the maintenance and grounds person at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Steve was an accomplished but humble artist. He enjoyed playing pool, watching NASCAR, and had a great affinity for animals. He most especially loved the Green Bay Packers. Survivors include his brother, Tom Jacobs of Moline; one niece; two nephews; his friends, and colleagues. He will be greatly missed. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Donna King, and a nephew, Danny King.
