Shirley Burrows

Shirley A. Burrows, 82, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully Tuesday, June 14, 2022, at her home.

Services will be Saturday, June 18, 2022, at 11:00 am., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation one hour prior to the service beginning at 10:00 am. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens, East Moline.

Memorials may be made to the Alzheimer's Association.

Shirley was born in Brimfield, IL, on July 17, 1939, to Charles and Hazel (Cadwell) Sollenberger. On September 13, 1958, in Brimfield, IL, she married William Eugene Burrows, who preceded her in death on August 4, 2020.

Shirley graduated from Brimfield High School in 1958. She enjoyed being a homemaker, raising her children, and spending time with family and friends. She loved gardening with her husband, bowling, cooking, and listening to gospel and country music.

Survivors include daughters: Deb Plata of Moline, and Diane (Rick) Kent of Chesterfield, MI; son, Chuck (Pamela) Burrows of Fort Walton Beach, FL; grandchildren: Tyler Burrows, Samantha Wilson, and Nicholas Kent; great-grandchildren: Lili, Joe, Silas, Cooper, and Cailyn; brothers: Dale Sollenberger of Brimfield, IL, and Roger (Shirley) Sollenberger.

She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, sisters-in-law: Janet Burrows and Yvonne Sollenberger; niece, Karen Karl, nephew, Jim Burrows and his wife, Karen; and brother & sister-in-law, Frank and Jane Goodwin.

The family wants to thank Julie Clemente from Home Instead, and the staff at Heartland Hospice for taking great care of Shirley.
