Scott W. “Scotty” Hamor, 67, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, May 6, 2015, at the Veterans Hospital in Iowa City, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, May 10th, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Monday, May 11th, at 2:00 pm at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Honor Guard of American Legion Post #246. Scotty was born in Moline on November 5, 1947, son of Billy E. and Cecilia (Hinkle) Hamor. He graduated from Moline High School, and served in the U.S. Army. On June 3, 2006, he married Lenetta A. Brown, who survives. He was employed by the Quad City Times and Dispatch/Argus newspapers as a contract carrier, and then worked in maintenance at Len Brown’s North Shore Inn & Marina. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Moline. Scotty enjoyed boating on the Rock River, and mowing grass. He loved spending time with his family, especially his grandsons who were the apples of his eye. In addition to his wife, Lenetta, survivors include a daughter, Samantha Hamor; two grandsons, Kaeden and Deven Hamor; a sister, Judy (Herbert) Cartee; a sister-in-law, Kathie Womack, all of Moline; several nieces and nephews, and great-nieces and great-nephews.. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother-in-law, Barry Brown.
