Roy James Weis

Roy James Weis, Jr, 72, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, January 28, 2018, at UnityPoint Trinity West Medical Center in Rock Island, IL. A memorial service will be held Monday, February 5th, at 1:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a 2-hour visitation prior to the service beginning at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to a humane society of the donor’s choice. Roy was born in Muscatine, IA, on May 31, 1945, son of Roy James and Louella May (Ratel) Weis, Sr. He graduated from Moline High School with the Class of 1964, and served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed for fifteen years at Eagle Signal, fifteen years at Montgomery Elevator, and three years at Bandag. He enjoyed working on cars, and helping friends and family with projects. Survivors include his brothers, Rodger (Randy) Weis of Springfield, MO, Robert Weis of Reno, NV, Ronald Weis of Moline, and Richard Weis of Reno, NV. He was preceded in death by his parents, a sister, Vicki, and a brother, Ralph.
