Rosemary M. Ward, 97, formerly of Moline, IL, died Tuesday, June 11, 2013, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Saturday, June 15th, at 11:00 a.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a 1-hour visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will take place in Linwood Cemetery in Galesburg, IL. In lieu of flowers, Rosemary requested memorials to be made to the Rock Island County Historical Society, 822 - 11th Avenue, Moline, IL 61265. Rosemary Martha Ward was born in Cleveland, OH, on March 5, 1916, to Harry A. and Marguarite (Burkin) Ward. Her family moved to Moline when she was four years old. She graduated with the Moline High School Class of 1934, and attended Augustana College. She began employment with Deere & Company in 1937, and was employed for many years, working in several departments, including Auditing and Legal. Rosemary had served as treasurer of numerous area organizations for many years. She served in that capacity for the former Moline Public Hospital Auxilliary when the Lutheran and Public Hospitals merged, and for the Moline Church Women United. She was treasurer for 40 years for the Quad City Music Guild, where in 1986, she was named to the Music Guild Hall of Fame. She was second vice-president for the Moline King's Daughters City Union, and was a charter member of the Ever William Circle of King's Daughters. She had served on the board of Friendship Manor, and over the years, she was associated in some capacity with the Rock Island County Historical Society, the Niabi Zoological Society, the National Secretaries Association, the Colonel Davenport Historical Foundation, and Deere Women Retirees. In earlier years, she was a member of the Moline Junior Women's Club. She had served on the council of First Congregational Church of Moline, where she had been a member since 1930, and was a member since 1953, of the Mary Little Deere Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution.
