Rosemary Farris

Rosemary M. Farris, age 81, of Aledo, IL, died Friday, July 1, 2011, at Mercer County Nursing Home in Aledo, IL. Services will be Wednesday, July 6th, at 11:00 a.m., at Holy Cross Lutheran Church, 4107 - 21st Avenue, Moline, IL, with a two-hour visitation from 9:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Rosemary M. Ogburn was born in Rock Island, IL, on January 6, 1930, to Everett and Mary Ann (Walker) Ogburn. On October 25, 1949, in Coal Valley, IL, she married Kenneth L. Farris, who preceded her in death April 12, 1984. She was secretary for Moline Septic Tank Works, and Quad-City Porta Toilet, both of which she co-owned and operated with her husband. She was a member of Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Moline, was a former member of the Rock Island Moose, and was a past president of the Milan V.F.W. Aux.#4177. Survivors include, daughters: Judy Hardesty of Davenport, IA, Linda (Lloyd) Deweese of East Moline, Cindy Morris of Los Angeles, CA, Elaine Green of Creola, AL, and Pearl Schell of Davenport, IA; brothers: David (Sharon) Ogburn of Ft.Patrick, FL, Calvin (Sharron) Ogburn of Colliersville, TN, Gary (Maureen) Ogburn of Storm Lake, IA, and William Ogburn of East Moline; sisters: Marcella Hilbert of DeWitte, IA, Elizabeth Woolley of Maquoketa, IA, and Phyllis (Roy) McClausky of Colona, IL; fourteen grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren, and one great-great-grandchild. In addition to her husband, Kenneth, she was preseded in death by her parents, and a granddaughter, Mary Beth Rottman.
