Ronald Weis

Ronald Weis, 70, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully Monday, July 4, 2022, at M Health Fairview University of Minnesota Medical Center, Minneapolis, MN.

Per his wishes, cremation rites have been accorded. A Celebration of Life will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at 12:00 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, IL, with visitation from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm.

Ronald was born on January 26, 1952, to Roy J. and Louella (Ratel) Weis Sr.

He graduated from Moline High School class of 1970 and attended Black Hawk College and IAMAW William W. Winpisinger Education and Technology Center. He was employed at Williams White & Co., International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers, and John Deere Davenport Works.

He was a member of the IAMAW Union, UAW Union, and President of Local 1191. Ron loved sports and excelled at athletics and played on several teams in his adult life. He volunteer coached and managed many of his daughter’s basketball and softball teams.

Ron loved being with his family. He enjoyed building and carpentry, fishing, and supporting all Illinois sports teams, primarily the Chicago Cubs. He loved animals, especially Golden Retrievers. He generously gave his time and resources to family, friends, and others.

Those left to cherish his life are daughter, Abbey Weis (Barry Nelson) of Minneapolis, MN; grandchildren, Liam and Soren Nelson; and brothers, Robert Weis of Hawaii/Nevada, Rodger (Randi) Weis of Springfield, MO, as well as many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Vicki Reno, and brothers, Roy "James”, Ralph, and Richard Weis.
