Ronald Earl Schmook

Ronald Schmook, 81, of Milan, IL, died Sunday, February 1, 2015, at Genesis Medical Center – Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. Cremation rites have been accorded. Private inurnment services will be held at Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island, IL. Arrangements are being handled by Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. The family has requested, in lieu of flowers, that memorials be made to the Rock Island County Animal Care & Control. Ronald Earl Schmook was born in Moline on August 30, 1933, to Lester and Helen (Swanson) Schmook. He graduated from Sherrard High School in Sherrard, IL, and retired in August of 1996, after many years as custodian at Rock Island High School in Rock Island. He was a member of the Rock Island Moose Lodge, and he loved fishing. Survivors include: Cousins Terry Bingham, Cliff Wyborg, and Vicki Grudvinski, and best friends Morti and Gloria Wilsey. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his stepmother, Verlea Schmook.
