On February 12, 1996, the sun rose and God blessed Betty Gilliam and Jessie McCray with a loving and caring son, Romel Gilliam.
He was very outgoing. He was eager to learn and know about life. He loved hard. He had some good deeds and some bad. But he was quick to forgive because he loved family, friends, and people. Romel loved to play basketball. He also enjoyed music. His favorite genre was rap – the songs and the lyrics. He loved to laugh and have fun. Romel was a funny guy.
Romel leaves behind to honor his legacy three children and four step-children: Ireona and Iyona Euring, and Jay and Jarvis Burton; his parents, Betty Gilliam and Jessie McCray; five sisters: Angela Gilliam, Lakeisha Gilliam, Shakeera Gilliam, Kylar Gilliam, and Kareba Gilliam (Oliver) Solomon; two brothers: Shakeem Gilliam and Jamaal Gilliam; eleven Aunts, four uncles, his grandparents: Malinda Thomas and M.C. Thomas; nine nephews, seven nieces, and many cousins and friends.
Romel will be greatly missed but never forgotten.
