Roger D. Elliott, 74, of Moline, IL, went to be with the Lord on Monday, July 6, 2015, at Clarissa S. Cook Hospice House in Bettendorf, IA. Services will be Saturday, July 11th, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Visitation is 1:00 – 3:00 pm, with the Memorial Service following at 3:00 pm. Per his wishes, he will be cremated with a private inurnment service. There will be a funeral luncheon for a celebration of his life, at Salem Lutheran Church, 1724 – 15th Street, Moline, following the funeral service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family. Roger was born July 8, 1940, in Des Moines, IA, son of Donald F. and Agnes M. (Denton) Elliott. He moved to Moline as a young man, and met the love of his life, Mary J. Magruder. They were married in Moline on February 6, 1960. He worked for the International Brotherhood of Carpenters and Joiners of America, and later installed siding and roofing. He was a die-hard Cardinals fan, stock car racing fan, and enjoyed having drinks with friends at his picnic table. Survivors include his wife, Mary; two daughters, Donna A. (Allen) Guss, and Sharon K. Elliott; three granddaughters, Brittany (Chad Parr) Clenney, Michelle (Danny Adams) Clenney, and Kelsey (Donavan Johnson) Clenney; three great-grandchildren, C.J., Kaylee, and Ethan Parr, and expecting a 4th, Riley Johnson; two brothers, Cole H. (Terri) Elliott, and Jay R. Elliott; and eight nieces, all of Moline. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Dennis and Craig Elliott.
