Roberta A. Alender, 67, died Tuesday, January 5, 2016, at UnityPoint-Trinity West Medical Center in Rock Island, IL. A Celebration of Life will be Monday, January 11th, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the American Heart Association or to the donor’s choice. Roberta Mahar was born in Moline on July 24, 1948, to William and Helen (Bachelder) Mahar. She married Chuck Alender, who preceded her in death. She enjoyed reading, throwing darts, shooting pool, and socializing with friends, bowled on a league; and was a member of the former East Moline Moose Club. Survivors include daughters Kelly Jordan of Coralville, IA, and Stefanie Leiber of Macomb, IL; three grandsons, Justin, Isaiah, and Corey; and siblings, Beverly (Frank) Garrett of East Moline, IL, Helen (David) Gustafson of Marietta, GA, Harry Mahar of Geneseo, IL, Terisa Bunch of Rock Island, and Pat (Lisa) Mahar of Rock Island; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Chuck, she was preceded in death by her parents, and her brother, Billy Ackerman.
