Robert Frank Weber, a beloved father, grandfather, brother, and uncle, passed away at his home in Moline, Illinois, on April 14, 2025, at the age of 87. Born September 22, 1937, Robert lived a life rich with love, service, and family.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, Robert exemplified dedication not only in his military service but also throughout his professional career. He devoted 37 years to working at Quad City Marine before retiring in 1997. His commitment to his community was further reflected in his membership with the American Legion in Moline, where he contributed to the camaraderie among fellow veterans.
Robert's personality shone brightly through his caring and loving nature. He had a passion for watching John Wayne movies, enjoyed skeet shooting, cherished woodworking, and most importantly, relished every moment spent with his grandbabies. His nurturing spirit and the joy he found in his family were evident to all who knew him.
On June 10, 1973, Robert married Judy Lee Abbott in Moline, a union that would last until her passing on October 23, 2020. His heart was further burdened by the loss of his daughter, Shelly Garner, and granddaughter, Kayla R. Puckett, both of whom preceded him in death.
Despite the hardships of loss, Robert's legacy lives on. He is survived by his daughter, Stephanie (John) Nichols, of Muscatine, Iowa, along with four grandchildren: James Puckett of Moline, IL, Jonathan Garner of East Moline, IL, Samantha (Tony) Alongi of Rock Island, IL, and Marrissa (Joseph) Kennedy of Moline, IL. In addition, he leaves behind seven great-grandchildren, a brother, Alan (Patty) Weber of Joliet, IL, a sister-in-law, Erma Doss of Keithsburg, IL, a brother-in-law, Craig Johanson of Moline, IL, and many nieces and nephews who will remember him fondly.
A graveside service honoring Robert's life will be held on April 25, 2025, at 1:00 PM, at Rock Island National Cemetery, Rock Island, Illinois. Family and friends are invited to gather at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL, to join the procession at 12:30 pm. Memorials may be made to the family for a memorial fund to be established.
