Robert T Ingelson

Robert Ingelson, 93, of Rock Island, IL, died Saturday, May 19, 2012, at Friendship Manor in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Sunday, June 3rd, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be Monday, June 4th, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Park Cemetery, with Military Rites provided by American Legion Post 246. Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Moline, or to Friendship Manor, Rock Island. Robert T. Ingelson was born in Moline on December 11, 1918, to Adolph and Hilda (Lindquist) Ingelson. On May 17, 1941, in St. Paul, MN, he married Bernice G. Meegan, who preceded him in death March 14, 2003. He was a graduate of Moline High School, and served in the U.S. Army Air Corp during WWII. He was employed by the former Roykouff's Floorcovering, and was a longtime treasurer for his local floorcovering union. He was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church, and was active in Garfield School Dads Club. Robert loved spending time with his family and friends, and showed us all how to live life to the fullest. Survivors include, daughter: Nancy Zeidler of East Moline, IL; son: Gary (Nancy) Ingelson of Moline; grandchildren: Andrea Napier of East Moline, Kristen (Thomas) Zgonis of San Antonio, TX, Ben (Rakel) Ingelson of Joliet, IL, and Jenna Ingelson of Seattle, WA; and great-grandchildren: Brett Zeidler, Labrini and Ioanna Zgonis, and Linnea Ingelson. In addition to his wife and his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, Carl and Leslie Ingelson.
