Robert Angelo, 74, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, September 21, 2011, at Proctor Hospital in Peoria, IL. Services will be Tuesday, September 27th, at 1:30 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL, with Military Rites accorded by American Legion Post #246. Memorials may be made to First Baptist Church, Moline, or to the American Cancer Society. Robert Lee Angelo was born in Litchfield, IL, on June 28, 1937, the son of William and Dorothy (Wilkinson) Angelo, and was raised by Dorothy and Elzie Burris. On February 21, 1970, in Galesburg, IL, he married Sharon Rose, who survives. He attended school in Rockford, IL, and then joined the Air National Guard, serving over 20 years, 12 years of which were active duty. He retired, after 11 years, as a salesman with Prudential Insurance Company, and was employed for a time at Holmes Shoes in Moline. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Moline, where he taught Sunday School, and was a member of American Legion Post #246. He enjoyed playing golf, and especially loved spending time with his family and friends. In addition to his wife, Sharon, survivors include: sons, Craig (Tenee) Angelo of Rockton, IL, and Michael (Missy) Angelo of Moline, and grandson, Michael B. Angelo.
