Robert L. “Bob” Stribling, 75, of Milan, IL, passed away Saturday, August 1, 2015, in Davenport, IA, at the home of his daughter, surrounded by his loving family. Visitation will be Wednesday, August 5th, from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be Thursday, August 6th, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be at National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Bob Stribling was born in Iowa City, IA on December 12, 1939, to James and Dorothy (Hemm) Stribling. After graduating from high school, he served in the U.S. Navy from 1958 until 1962. On February 23, 1963, in Moline, he married Nancy Jane Hill, who survives. He was a welder for a total of 43 years, first for the Rock Island Lines Railroad, and then for the National Railway Equipment Company. He retired in April of 2005. He was a member of First Christian Church in Moline, was a Past-Master of Silvis Lodge 898 AM & FM, and a 32-degree Mason of the Scottish Valley of Moline. He enjoyed bowling and fishing, and loved being with his family. In addition to his wife, Nancy, survivors include two daughters, Chris (Jack) Myers of Rock Island, and Kim (Larry) Hamby of Davenport; a son, Jon (Rachel) Stribling of Rock Island; grandchildren, Geoffrey and Greggory Myers; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and a brother, James Stribling, Jr.
