Robert E Waltman

Robert Earl Waltman, 84, of Moline, IL, died April 17, 2008, at Riverpark Healthcare in Rock Island, IL. Robert Earl Waltman was born on April 17, 1924, in Davenport, IA, to Ira and Hazel (Baker) Waltman. He married Marian Elaine Cline on August 7, 1946, in Clinton, IA. He served in the Army during WWII. Robert drove a truck for Mayflower Transport, and then was employed by the Rock Island Arsenal as a Machinist, retiring in 1985. He was a member of First Christian Church in Moline, IL. He enjoyed roller skating for many years, and was an avid fan of NASCAR, the Cubs and the Bears. Services will be held on Monday, April 21st, at 1:30 p.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial with Military Honors accorded by American Legion Post #246, will take place at National Cemetery, Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Survivors include his Wife; five children: Robert (Linda) Waltman of Moline, IL, Teresa (Rick) Calhoun of Galva, IL., Amy Jo (Greg) Gaskins of East Moline, IL., Gayle (Steve) Trauffer of Titusville, FL, and Timothy (Vicki) Waltman of Coal Valley, IL; twelve grandchildren, and more than thirty great- grandchildren.
