Robert E Hinrichsen

Robert E. Hinrichsen, 91, of East Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, October 22, 2014, at Genesis Medical Center-Illini Campus in Silvis, IL. Visitation will be Monday, October 27th, at 10:00 a.m., with the service at 11:00 a.m. , at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island in Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Arrowhead Ranch, Coal Valley, IL. Robert E. Hinrichsen was born March 4, 1923, in Moline, IL, son of Otto A. and Laura L. (Schmid) Hinrichsen. Bob served in the Army Air Corp in the Pacific during WWII. After the war, he married Rosemarie Holck in Moline, and she preceded him in death in 2002. At an early age, Bob worked for his dad in the family meat market business, making numerous friends. His outgoing personality made him very successful in his business endeavors. He was a realtor and owner of the Robert E. Hinrichsen Real Estate Agency for 65 years in the Quad-City area. He served as president of the Moline-East Moline Board of Realtors, and was a 60-year member of Short Hills Country Club, where he enjoyed golf and playing cards with his Short Hills friends. Bob’s favorite pastime was spending weekends boating and fishing with his family and friends. Survivors include his three children: Bill R. (Susan) Klingberg of Houston, TX, Chris (Karen) Hinrichsen of Mundeline, IL, and Judith Larvenz of Houston, TX; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his wife, his parents, and a brother, Otto.
