Robert C. Hartley, 93, of Moline, IL. died Tuesday, September 4, 2007, at Park View Health Care Center in East Moline, IL. Robert Camp Hartley was born on November 15, 1913, to Royal and Maude (Camp) Hartley in Astoria, IL. He married Ruth Annette Kerr on October 7, 1937, in Toulon, IL. He was a steamfitter, and was Superintendent for Moline Heating and Construction for many years, before retiring in 1997. He was involved in the construction of many schools, churches, hospitals, prisons, and government buildings in northern Illinois. Visitation will be held on Friday, September 7th, from 5:00 P.M. until 7:00 P.M. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be held on Saturday, September 8th, at 11:00 A.M. at the funeral home. Burial will be at 3:00 P.M. in Elmira Cemetery, Elmira, IL. Memorials may be made to The Parkinsons Association or to a charity of the donor's choice. Survivors include: his wife, Ruth; a daughter: Judith Hartley of Champaign, IL; a son: Robert (Marsha) Hartley of Moline; a brother: Norman Hartley of Galesburg, IL.; one granddaughter: Elizabeth Hartley; five grandsons: Eliot and Justin Cresswell, and Ben, Brady, and Bret Hartley; two great-granddaughters: Julia Cresswell and Lillian Hartley; and one great-grandson: Sam Hartley. He was preceded in death by his parents, one sister: Neldabelle Hartley; and two brothers: Ronald and Roy Hartley.
