Richard W Sutherland

Richard W. Sutherland, 63, of Davenport, IA, died peacefully at home of natural causes, on January 10, 2015. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded and burial will be at a later date. There will be a gathering of family and friends Thursday, January 15th, from 4:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Research Hospital. Richard was born June 9, 1951, in Sandwich, IL, to Robert W. and Marion (Lett) Sutherland. He graduated from Aledo High School, Aledo, IL, and from DeVry Technical Institute in Chicago. He was employed as a switchboard operator at Genesis Medical Center in Davenport. Survivors include his mother, Marion of Moline; brother Randy of Dallas, TX; sister Ruth (Marvin Drowns) Sutherland, and nephew Will Drowns, all of Aledo. He was preceded in death by his father, and a brother Bob.
