Richard W. Hoerrmann, age 68, of Moline, IL. died Sunday, May 13, 2007, at his home. Richard Wesley Hoerrmann was born on August 3, 1938, son of William and Helen (Mendina) Jackson. He graduated with the Moline High Class of 1956, and attended Moline Community College. On April 18, 1964, in Moline, he married Christine E. Calvert. He worked for 20 years at Ringle Express in Coal Valley, IL, and later was employed for 14 years at Quad City Freight in Rock Island, IL. After retirement in 2004, he became Property Manager for Bob Doran, last working on Friday, May 11, 2007. Dick enjoyed golf, basketball, and reading, especially Westerns, and he loved attending the activities of his grandchildren. He was one of the old Spudnut Gang, loved the Friday Nite Friends, the Saturday mornings at The Village Inn, and the Saturday night dinners. His favorite drink was Vodka On The Rocks, with a good cigar. Services will be held on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, at 11:00 a.m. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, May 15th, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Burial will be in Moline Memorial Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Quad City Animal Welfare Center, Milan, IL. Survivors include: his wife, Christine; two daughters: Lynn (Tim) Vershaw of Moline, and Carrie (Chuck) Carroll of Edina, MN; three grandchildren: Michael and Emily Vershaw, and Charlie Carroll; three sisters: Phyllis Evans of Estes Park, CO, Barbara (Richard) Newberg of East Moline, IL, and Karen (Terry) Smith of Moline; mother-in-law, Suzanne Calvert; brother-in-law, Steven Calvert; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Tom and Kathy Creen, all of Moline, and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his father-in-law, Troy "Red" Calvert, Jr., and brothers-in-law William Evans and Tom Potter.
