Richard C. Lager II, 74, of Moline, IL, died Friday, July 22, 2011, at Trinity Hospital West in Rock Island, IL. Per his wishes, the body was cremated. There will be a memorial service on Friday, August 5th, at 1:30 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with visitation from 12:00 noon until time of the service. Burial will be in National Cemetery on Arsenal Island, Rock Island, IL. Memorials may be made to Christian Friendliness Pantry. Richard Carl Lager, II, was born in McGill, Nevada, on November 25, 1936, to Richard and Alice (Novich) Lager. From 1966 until 1968, he was married to Erma May Sabourin in Seattle, WA. He then was married to Diana Lee Johnson from 1972 until 1998. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He was employed by the Rock Island Lines, as a boiler maker, from 1971 until 1980, and from 1980 until 2001, was a general mechanic for Alcoa Aluminum. He loved boat fishing, and enjoyed working on his old cars, including many VWs. Survivors include: sons: Brian Lager of Aledo, IL, Richard (Lisa) Lager III, of Coal Valley, IL, and Brad Lager of Moline; and four grandchildren: Kyle, Annabell, Gage, and Brook. He was preceded in death by his parents and a sister.
