Raymond "Bud" Hummer, 74, of Monmouth, IL, died Tuesday, October 14, 2008, at Trinity Medical Center West in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Friday, October 17th, from 4:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Services will be Saturday, October 18th, at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Following the services, per his wishes, the body will be cremated, and inurnment will be at a later date at Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Raymond L. Hummer was born in Clarence, MO on October 13, 1934, to Alfred P. and Dorothy Hummer. He married Maurita Lyda, and later married Doris J. Stotts, who preceded him in death on August 16, 1999. He then married Cyndi G. Fletcher in Nashua, IA on August 24, 2001. He was a heavy equipment mechanic, working out of the Operating Engineers Union Hall in Rock Island, IL, before his retirement in 2001. In addition to other locations, he spent many years working at Ken Co in Bettendorf, IA. "Bud" was a member of the Moline Vikings Thor Lodge, the Moline Turners, and the Operating Engineers Union Local #150. Survivors include: his wife: Cyndi; three daughters: Violet (John) Leuck of Moline, and Debbie Johnson and Sharon (Alan) Milburn, both of Holden, MO; a son: Vince Hummer of Kansas City, MO; a step-daughter: Candie (Brent) Stewart of Louisiana, MO; two step-sons: Bill (Wendy) Stotts of Surfside, SC, and Shane Harrison of Hannibal, MO; sixteen grandchildren, and twenty-two great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his second wife, his parents, and a sister, Bernice Miller.
