Raymond A Caldwell

Raymond A. Caldwell, 78, of Moline, IL, passed away Wednesday, December 3, 2014, at UnityPoint/Trinity Health Center in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Tuesday, December 9th, at 12:00 noon, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a two-hour visitation from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to the family. Ray was born in Moline on February 12, 1936, to Albert and Opal (Turner) Caldwell. He attended Maple Grove Elementary School, John Deere Junior High School, and graduated from Moline High School. On September 3, 1955, he married Ruth McGruder. He later married Betty Nevett on December 6, 1963. He was employed by Deere & Company for thirty years, retiring as a Fork Lift Operator in February, 1989. He was a member of the former Gospel Temple in Moline. Survivors include: daughters Joan Caldwell – Rick Ethridge of Moline, Sheri Praught – Randy Geerts of Davenport, IA; sons Larry Caldwell of Moline, Jerry and Martha Caldwell of Kewanee, IL, Rod and Teri Caldwell of Davenport, IA, and Randy Caldwell of Moline; a sister Judy Caldwell of California; a brother Ron Caldwell of Geneseo, IL; nine grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and four siblings, Richard, Joanne, Jenese, and Joyce.
