Phillip Grchan

Phillip Grchan, 53, of Moline, IL, died Saturday, May 4, 2013, at his home. Per his wishes, cremation rites will be accorded. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday, May 9th, at 7:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, with a visitation from 4:00 p.m. until time of the service. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the family for a fund to be established at a later date. Phillip George Grchan was born in Moline on March 12, 1960, to Steven and Betty (Larson) Grchan. He graduated from Moline High School in 1978, and owned Phil Crchan Concrete, and was passionate about the art of finishing concrete. Phil was an avid golfer, a connoisseur of fine foods, and was a member of numerous country clubs. He considered Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Moline as his house of worship. He loved his family and spoke of them often, especially his son, Jonathan. He was known to welcome most anyone into his home, often telling stories and using his quick wit to evoke laughter. Phil truly was a loving and caring man who would never hesitate to offer his help in any way. He will, no doubt, be missed by many! Survivers include: a son, Jonathan Grchan of Moline; brothers: James (Tammy) Grchan, and Steve Grchan, all of St. Petersburg, FL, and Don (Sue) Grchan of Moline; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and his brother, Mike.
