Peter W. Hogberg, 79, of Moline, IL, died Sunday, August 9, 2015, at UnityPoint Trinity West in Rock Island, IL. Visitation will be Thursday, August 13th, from 4:00 to 6:00 pm, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Friday, August 14th, at 11:00 am, at the funeral home. Burial will be at Rose Lawn Memorial Estates in Moline. Memorials may be made to New Hope Foursquare Church in Moline. Peter was born May 26, 1936, in Moline, to Curtis and Jeanette (Wagner) Hogberg. He graduated from Moline High School, and from St. Ambrose College in Davenport, IA. On November 25, 1955, in Moline, he married Alice M. Youngren, who preceded him in death on July 7, 2013. He was an industrial engineer at the Rock Island Arsenal for 25 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of Short Hills Country Club in East Moline, the Moline Vikings, the Moline Eagles, the Moline J.C.’s, and the Gatling Club of the American Legion Post 246. Pete and Alice enjoyed their home during the winters in Lake Havasu City, AZ. Survivors include a daughter, Karen (Mike) LeMaster of Moline; a brother, Curtis Hogberg, Jr. and his partner Michael O’Keefe of Sacramento, CA; a sister, Marilyn Farrara of Sacramento, CA, and two grandchildren, Emma and Nick LeMaster of Moline. He was preceded in death by his wife, Alice, and his parents.
