Pauline Eklof, of Rock Island, IL, passed away on her 87 th birthday, Sunday, October 13, 2019, at St. Anthony’s Nursing and Rehab in Rock Island. Inurnment will be held on Friday, October 25th, at 12:30 p.m., at Rock Island National Cemetery on Arsenal Island. Those wishing to attend should be in the parking lot of Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, no later than 12-noon, to be included in the procession to the cemetery. After the burial, a luncheon for family and friends will be held at 2:00 p.m., at the American Legion in Milan, IL. Memorials may be made to the Salvation Army or Disabled Veterans. Pauline was born October 13, 1932, in Keokuk, IA, daughter of Harry and Florence (Hoage) Lucas. In 1965, she married Elmer Eklof, who preceded her in death in 1980. She was a staunch supporter of the Salvation Army, and enjoyed reading and crocheting. Survivors include her daughter, Doris Bare of Channelview, TX; her sisters, Helen Beechamp of Silvis, IL, and Janet Eklof of East Moline, IL; her brothers, Joseph Lucas of Loveland, CO, and James Webb of Rock Island, IL; seven grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, Elmer, she was preceded in death by her parents, a brother, three sisters, and her son, Harold Eklof.
