Paula T. Hernstrom, 53, of Moline, IL, entered unexpectedly into eternal life during the early morning hours of Monday, June 27, 2011. Visitation will be on Thursday, June 30th, at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m., with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m., led by her Carmelite brother and sister. There will be a Requiem Mass said Friday, July 1st, at 10:30 a.m., at Saint Mary's Catholic Church in Rock Island, IL, where Paula would be happy to see everyone dressed appropriately for the Traditional Mass. Burial will be in Saint Mary's Cemetery in East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to St. Anthony's in Davenport, IA, or EWTN Sioux City Carmel, or St. Francis Hospital in Peoria, IL. Paula Therese Ryder was the eighth child born to Harold J. and Marjorie M. (Van Goethem) Ryder in Moline on April 22, 1958. She married Kyle G Hernstrom on February 14, 1979, and with God, the Giver of Life, seven children were born: Teresa (Joel) Oltman of Geneseo, IL, Elizabeth, Anna, James, John, and Pauline Hernstrom, all of Moline, and Helen (John) Dabney of Oklahoma City, OK. She was blessed with five beautiful grandhildren: Anthony, Noah, Sophia, and Madelyn Oltman, and Wyndi Dabney. She loved God, her family, and the Latin Mass. Along with her immediate family, survivors include: sisters, Susan Mehuys and Regina Ryder, both of Moline; Joanne (Walter) Norris of Rock Island, IL, and Mary (Chris) Lievens of Sherrard, IL; and brothers: Daniel and Joseph Ryder of Moline, and Michael and John Ryder of East Moline. She was preceded in death by her parents, sisters, Sr.M. Immaculata P.C.P.A., and Marjorie Rasso, and nephew Jimmy Lievens.
