Patricia A Gernant

Patricia Gernant, 83, of Rock Island, IL, passed away Wednesday, January 12, 2011, at Trinity Rock Island in Rock Island, IL. Services will be Monday, January 17th, at 1:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. A visitation will be held from 11:00 a.m. until time of the service, with an Eastern Star service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Rock Island. Memorials may be made to Order of The Eastern Star Lodge #258. Patricia A. Pruessing was born in Davenport, IA, on January 11, 1928, to Charles and Carol (Keller) Pruessing. On April 28, 1980, in Rock Island, she married Louis W. Gernant, who preceded her in death August 2, 2001. She worked as a bookkeeper for many years at the former Myers Candy Company in Rock Island, retiring in 1980. She was a member of the former AMOO Caldron in Rock Island since 1974, and then, in 1992, she became affiliated with ZAL Caldron in Moline. She was member of the Eastern Star Lodge #258, where she was treasurer for many years. She and her husband traveled extensively. She enjoyed doing needlework for friends and family, and loved music, singing, and dancing. Survivors include: a sister: Carol (Mike) Sundvall of Lynn Center, IL; a step-daughter: Sandra (Richard) Mason of East Moline, IL; a granddaughter: Beth Jacobs of Moline; a grandson: Earl "Boo" (Tami) Wendt IV of Moline; two nephews: Jim (Cyndi) Carlson of Bloomington, IN, and Tom (Belinda) Carlson of Littleton, CO; a geat-grandson, a great-grandniece, and a great-grand nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband and her parents. The family would like to thank Dr. Durco and the nursing staff at Trinity Rock Island, for the care and concern shown to our family.
