Evelyn Baker, 69, of Moline, IL, died Thursday, August 6, 2009, at Trinity Pathway Hospice in Bettendorf, IA. Visitation will be Sunday, August 9th, from 2:00 p.m. until 5:00 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline. Services will be Monday, August 10th, at 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. Burial will be in Greenview Memorial Gardens in East Moline, IL. Memorials may be made to Moline Missionary Church or to Trinity Pathway Hospice. Ora Evelyn McMann was born in Cedar Rapids, IA, on October 30, 1939, to Ernest and Pearl (Moyer) McMann. On April 25, 1954, in Milan, IL, she married Kenneth Eugene Baker, who survives. She was a homemaker and a daycare provider, and was a member of the Moline Missionary Church. She enjoyed sewing, ceramics, and collectibles. As a daycare provider for over 39 years, she helped raised several hundred children. In addition to her husband, survivors include: two sons: Kenneth (Connie) Baker of Ft. Myers, FL, and Roddie (Janie) Baker of Henderson, NV; a daughter: Donna (Steve) Kurdelmeier of Suwanee, GA; seven grandchildren: A.J. Baker, Andy Baker, Alicia (Mike) Schaeffer, Carly Kurdelmeier, Megan Kurdelmeier, Madison Baker, and Kennedy Baker; a sister: Shirley L. (Fred) Hynd of Rock Island, IL; and two half-sisters: Nancy L. (Carlton) Crawford of Buford, GA, and Wanita D. Waite of Norcross, GA. She was preceded in death by her parents.
