Olga Zuniga, 90, of Moline, IL, passed away peacefully on Thursday, December 9th, 2021, at Genesis Medical Center - Illini Campus, Silvis, IL.
Services will take place at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline, on Sunday, December 12th, 2021 at 3 pm,
with visitation prior to the service from 1-3 pm. Burial will take place at a later date in Guatemala.
Memorials may be made to the family .
Olga was born on December 2, 1931, to Ruben Guevara and Ines Mencos de Guevara. She has been
married to the love of her life, Inocencio Zuniga for 49 years.
She was employed at Arens Controls in Evanston, IL, retiring after many years of service. Olga also
owned a restaurant in New Orleans partaking in her joy of cooking and among her many talents she
also was an actor, dancer and singer in many movies during the Golden Age of Cinema in Mexico.
She enjoyed her children and especially her grandchildren as well as cooking, spending time with her
husband and she was also a casino enthusiast.
She is survived by her husband, Inocencio, and her children; Mayra (Joe) Velez, Paula Valdez,
Fernando (Carmen) Zuniga; grandchildren; Valerie Velez (Jon) McColgan, Jennifer (Nate) Frandsen,
Amanda (Chris) Kapolas, Lexie (Michael) Cooper, Jose Valdez, Nicholas Valdez, Gabriella Valdez,
Joscelyn Castro, Gianna Zuniga, Fernando Zuniga Jr., Anthony Javier Zuniga; eight
great-grandchildren; sisters, Lidia Cordon, Blanca de Rubio, Elsa de Leiva, and a brother, Jose "Pepe"
Guevara.
She was preceded in death by her parents.
