Norman F Gliedt

Norman F. Gliedt, age 83, of Orion, IL, died Saturday, February 16, 2008, at Heartland Health Care Center in Moline, IL. Norman F. Gliedt was born on December 1, 1924, to Martin and Alma (Lampe) Gliedt in West Plains, MO. He married Vivian L. Gjovig on June 6, 1948, in Jesup, IA. She preceded him in death on November 1, 2002. He retired in 1974, after working over fifteen years as an Assembler for John Deere Tractor Works in Waterloo, IA. He was a member of Immanual Lutheran Church in Waterloo, IA, and attended Trinity Lutheran Church in Coal Valley, IL. Norman enjoyed gardening, and loved to work on his sister's farm in Iowa. Services will be held Wednesday, February 20th at 11:00 A.M. at Wendt Funeral Home in Moline, IL. Visitation will be held February 20th, from 10:00 a.m. until time of the service at 11:00. Graveside services will be held February 20th at 3:00 P.M. in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Waterloo, IA. Memorials may be made to a charity of the donor's choice. Survivors include: two daughters: Vicki Gill, and Beverly (Frank) Lund, both of Orion, IL.; a son: David Gliedt of Long Beach, CA.; two sisters: Dorothy Amos of High View, WV, and Esther Dunham of Waterloo, IA; two grandchildren: Debra and Robert Gill, both of Orion, IL; and step-grandchild: Tara Lund of West Branch, IA. He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, and three sisters.
