Norma Gaskins passed away peacefully on March 4, 2024, at her home in East Moline, IL. She was born on November 9, 1927, in Golconda, IL.
Funeral Services will be Thursday, March 14, 2024, at 5 p.m., with visitation before the service from 3-5 p.m., at Wendt Funeral Home, Moline. Cremation will be accorded following the service. A graveside service and burial will be later in Golconda, IL.
Norma was born to Lloyd and Cora Gullett. Her life was enriched by love when she married Earl Gaskins on Christmas Day, 1946. Norma is survived by her three sons Gregory Gaskins, East Moline, Richard Gaskins (Chiquita), East Moline, and Douglas Gaskins (Mary), Houston, TX; half-sister, Patricia O'Neal (Clede), Willcox, AZ; six grandchildren, Heidi Tinney (Glen), Carrie Loete (Sean), Rich Jr, Zachary, Max, Lori (John) Zimmerman, twelve great-grandchildren, Dylan (Kira), Alexandra, Anthony, Kayla, Jon, Emily (Matt), Erica, Rachael (Lin), Phoenix, Raiden, Orion, and Adelaide; and four great-great-grandchildren.
Norma was a respected member of several churches, including The First Baptist Church, Watertown Baptist Church, Wildwood Church, East Moline, and The Faith Walk World Outreach Center, Silvis, IL. As an organist and a Sunday school teacher, she touched many lives with her musical talent and steadfast love for God's word.
Those who knew Norma will remember her as loving, kind, and faith-filled. She had a gift·for making each person she met feel special and valued; her absence will be deeply felt. Norma lived her life as a testament to the virtues she held dear, leaving a legacy of love and service that will be honored by all who were blessed to know her.
Norma was preceded in death by her parents, husband, and daughter-in-law, Amy Jo Gaskins.
